2024 NBA Draft Class Puts On a Show in Hawks-Jazz Game

The 2024 NBA Draft was on full display in a game between the Atlanta Hawks and Utah Jazz as Isaiah Collier led the show.

The 2024 NBA Draft was heavily criticized at this time last year. As the NBA Draft conversations heated up, the talking points grew against the class and its lack of star power.

Perhaps that critique is correct and there will be no true star from the 2024 NBA draft, but a lot of the discourse was overblown. Already in its rookie season, we have seen key contributors pop up from the 2024 NBA Draft Class, more than most were willing to give the group of prospects credit for a year ago.

One of the biggest surprises has been the bounce back of Isaiah Collier. The point guard put up a shakey season with the Trojans that caused him to slip down draft boards after being one of the most high-end prospects from his high school class.

Collier is making a run at a potential Rookie of the Year honor and should undoubtably land himself on an All-Rookie team after a record-breaking breaking campaign.

On Sunday against the Atlanta Hawks, Collier posted 17 points, 12 assists, three rebounds, a block and a steal on 6-for-14 shooting from the floor and 1-for-4 from deep while getting to the charity stripe five times and making four of them.

Fellow rookie Kyle Filipowski chipped in nine points and nine rebounds with a block and a steal in 24 minutes during Utah's 147-134 loss to the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday.

Atlanta saw its No. 1 pick Zaccharie Risacher add 16 points, two rebounds and two assists in 22 minutes of work for the Hawks.

This was a pretty strong showing from the 2024 NBA Draft class as the regular season comes to a close.
