2024 NBA Draft: Top Sophomore Prospects
The 2023-24 college season is nearly here and we are set to see some of the top returning sophomore prospects make their season debut. Let’s dive into the top sophomore prospects for this year’s upcoming season:
Donovan Clingan | Connecticut
Donovan Clingan is a 7-foot-1 center looking to help lead the UConn Huskies to another national championship with a much bigger role and as a starter. Last season he came off the bench in limited minutes despite that, he made a massive impact with his elite interior defense and presence inside the pain on both ends of the floor. We will likely see Clingan features in more post-up opportunities and show more of an offensive game with a bigger role for his sophomore season which could be enough to skyrocket him into top ten conversions.
Tyrese Proctor | Duke
Tyrese Proctor is a 6-foot-5 lead guard out of Australia looking to make a big jump in his sophomore year after having a pretty up and down first year in college on the court. Despite the poor 3-point percentage, Proctor is a very good shooter from the outside off the catch and off the dribble. His touch is pretty good all around the floor and it’s evident on some of his made shots. He can initiate an offense and create for others despite not being the most bursty guard out there. If Proctor can make that big jump in his sophomore year like some anticipate then we could be talking about a potential lottery pick come June.
Kyle Filipowski | Duke
Kyle Filipowski is a 7-foot big man looking to dominate the college scene as he was highly regarded as a potential first round pick in the 2023 NBA Draft before electing to return to school for his sophomore year. The big man is a double-double machine that can score inside the paint and outside. He moves very well for a big man at his size and has proven to be one of the most skilled bigs in all of college basketball. If the 3-point jumper begins to come around then we could be talking about a guaranteed lottery pick in this year’s upcoming draft.
