Last Monday, Bronny James, the eldest son of Lakers star LeBron James, suffered cardiac arrest during practice at USC. It was announced quickly that he was successfully treated and in stable condition, and was days later discharged from Cedars-Sinai Medical Center.

Unfortunately, decisions regarding his short-term future in basketball will have to be made soon, as class registration at USC, where he’s signed on to play, begins on Aug. 14 and classes kick off on Aug. 21.

No official decision has been made regarding James' future with the Trojans.

James was a four-star recruit out of Sierra Canyon high school. Per most expert mocks and big boards, he was a consensus first round selection in the 2024 NBA Draft.

LeBron tweeted on Thursday saying that the family will have more to say eventually, but that the family is doing great.

"I want to thank the countless people sending my family love and prayers. We feel you and I’m so grateful. Everyone doing great. We have our family together, safe and healthy, and we feel your love. Will have more to say when we’re ready but I wanted to tell everyone how much your support has meant to all of us! #JamesGang"
