Shortly after the 2023 NBA Draft, the incoming rookies had the chance to compete against one another and other players looking to prove themselves during NBA Summer League. Although three separate summer circuits took place over the past two weeks, the largest of them happened in Las Vegas. Over the course of 11 days, all 30 teams competed on the campus of UNLV.

When evaluating the rookies that competed, it's difficult to benchmark their production and impact given how unique the circumstances are. Statistics don't tell the full story and the game is played unlike the way it is during the regular season. Furthermore, some of the top first-year players didn't play significant minutes due to injuries, showing enough to sit out after a couple of games, as well as other factors.

Who ended up earning a spot on one of Draft Digest’s 2023 All-Summer League Rookie teams? As deep as this class is, only 15 incoming rookies made the cut.

2023 All-Summer League Rookie First Team

  • Keyonte George (Utah Jazz)
  • Cam Whitmore (Houston Rockets)
  • Ausar Thompson (Detroit Pistons)
  • Hunter Tyson (Denver Nuggets)
  • Chet Holmgren (Oklahoma City Thunder)

2023 All-Summer League Rookie Second Team

  • Anthony Black (Orlando Magic)
  • Jalen Pickett (Denver Nuggets)
  • Jalen Wilson (Brooklyn Nets)
  • Emoni Bates (Cleveland Cavaliers)
  • Colin Castleton (Los Angeles Lakers)

2023 All-Summer League Rookie Third Team

  • Nick Smith Jr. (Charlotte Hornets)
  • Brandon Miller (Charlotte Hornets)
  • Julian Strawther (Denver Nuggets)
  • Leonard Miller (Minnesota Timberwolves)
  • Victor Wembanyama (San Antonio Spurs)

Other Notables: Bilal Coulibaly, Kobe Bufkin, Craig Porter Jr., Kobe Brown, Toumani Camara, Olivier-Maxence Prosper, Marcus Sasser, Jordan Walsh, Gradey Dick, D'Moi Hodge

It's always important to remember that the results of NBA Summer League generally don't have much of an impact on the overall trajectory of a prospect's career. Whether the past few weeks were good or bad for any given player, it's a small sample size and the true test will begin in October when the regular season kicks off.
