Isaiah Collier Could be Top Guard Option and More in 2024 NBA Draft
Soon-to-be USC point guard Isaiah Collier has all the makings of a future NBA star.
At 6-foot-4, Collier is solidly built and offers a perfect blend of near-everything that makes a player impactful.
He’s a solid functional athlete with decent acceleration, has a refined handle that helps him to pick and choose his spots on the court, gets others involved at a good rate and, to top it all off, is a likely three-level scorer off the bat at the collegiate and professional levels.
And with the Trojans, Collier is sure to function as the focal point of the team in initiating offense, meaning he'll have plenty of opportunity to showcase his skillset to teams looking for their point guard of the future in the 2024 NBA Draft.
All this and more is likely to make Collier the top guard option in the class, with players like Stephon Castle, Tyrese Proctor and DJ Wagner as his top competition.
But Collier’s skill won’t cap at being the best guard. He might just be the best prospect in the class.
Per RSCI, Collier ranks as the top recruit in the class, but the likes of Kentucky’s Justin Edwards, G League Ignite forwards Ron Holland and Matas Buzelis, as well as a host of great international prospect seem to have ousted him in the No. 1 conversation for the time being.
But with no clear top option emerging prior to the season, Collier is set to have his fingerprints all over that conversation with a solid season for the Trojans.
