Washington Wizards Win Cooper Flagg Sweep Stakes in Latest Mock Draft

The 2025 NBA Draft is heating up. Each draft cycle gets put under the microscope and discussed louder than ever beginning during the March Madness tournament where college prospects are on display in high stakes games.
NBA Draft expert Derek Parker put together his latest NBA Mock Draft ahead of the tournament in lottery spin that saw the Washington Wizards land the top pick in a no brainer discussion.
"Here at No. 1 we have the obvious and easy pick in selecting Duke's Cooper Flagg to the Washington Wizard. I have been on record saying I like what Washington has done, Bilal Coulibaly, Alex Sarr, Bub Carrington and Kyshawn George lengthy, positionally versatile pieces. Cooper Flagg embodies every sense of that with star level two-way play...There will be no dethroning him from No. 1...A guy like Flagg immediately raises both the floor and ceiling of your squad," Parker said.
Washington is putting together a great core since its new front office has taken control. The Wizards have a deep roster of youngsters but Flagg would be the star piece they are missing to nearly complete their rebuild. If they can land the Duke product, filling out the marginal pieces around him will become much easier.
The Wizards would benefit from Flagg maximizing its young talent such as in his potential two-man game with Alex Sarr.
