Wembanyama Continues Heralded Play in Win over Paris
NBA Draft prospect Victor Wembanyama continued to show off his unique skillset on Saturday, helping his team to a victory over Paris in the LNB league.
It wasn’t Wembanyama’s flashiest offensive game, as he finished with just 11 points, but he did showcase his innate defensive ability by tacking on six blocks.
Wembanyama has been unbelievable thus far in his stint with the Metropolitans 92, averaging 22.6 points, 9.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 3.1 blocks per game in close to 32 minutes per contest. He's also shooting 51 percent from the field and 28 percent from three on 4.9 attempts per game.
Barring something fairly drastic happening, Wembanyama is a shoe-in to be the No. 1 selection in the 2023 NBA Draft. The only question remaining is who will have the honor of selecting the 7-foot-4 prospect.
So far, the Charlotte Hornets are in the lead with a 7-22 record, followed by Detroit at 8-23 and Houston and San Antonio at 9-20.
Wembanyama is back in action on Friday, Dec. 23 in a matchup against Cholet of the LNB.
