Over a third of the way through the 2023-24 campaign, Victor Wembanyama has been one of the few bright spots for the San Antonio Spurs this season. A rebuilding team looking to find its identity, the Spurs have won just four games all season and are one of the worst teams in the NBA.

Even then, the French phenom provides hope as a potential face of the league one day and a two-way game changer. He's been pretty consistent, but overall has been remarkable for a rookie.

What has the generational talent done since our last Wemby Watch update, and what are his statistics to this point?

2023-24 Stats: 18.3 PPG | 10.6 RPG | 3.0 BPG | 1.3 SPG | 2.8 APG | 43.3% FG | 27.8% 3PT

Spurs Record: 4-25

Wembanyama only played twice this week due to an injury, which was his second game missed in the past four. The most recent contest he missed was a freak accident in which he landed awkwardly on a ball boy in pregame workouts before a matchup with the Dallas Mavericks. While he likely could have played, the team opted to play it safe.

In the two games he did play in, Wembanyama didn't have his best outings. The first was just a seven-point performance, though he did notch five assists and five stocks (steals + blocks). More recently, he put together a game with 15 points, seven rebounds, five blocks and four assists. While this would be a phenomenal line for almost any rookie, it was slightly underwhelming relative to what he's done the majority of the season.

Regardless, Wembanyama will look to bounce back as the calendar year comes to a close. In the upcoming week, Wembanyama and the Spurs will take on the Portland Trail Blazers twice, followed by the Boston Celtics, Memphis Grizzlies and Milwaukee Bucks.
