Prospect Profile

Although an older prospect at 24 years old, Post does quite a few things that intrigue NBA teams. A 7-footer who spent two seasons at Mississippi State and three at Boston College, he capped off his collegiate career with All-ACC Second Team and ACC All-Defensive Team honors.

In his fifth college season, Post was a double-double machine who averaged roughly 17 points and eight boards per contest. He also blocked nearly two shots per game, leveraging his size to protect the rim. He’s an efficient scorer too, which is why he was the only player in Division I to post shooting splits better than 50/40/80 last season.

What has been most impressive about Post’s development in recent years has been his ability to knock down triples. Even as a freshman in limited action, he showed a willingness to attempt shots from beyond the arc. But as his career went on, he continued increasing the volume, while also becoming more accurate. In his final two college seasons, Post knocked down 42.9% of his 3.1 triples per game.

Post is also an underrated passer, with good vision in the paint and on the perimeter. When he has the ball in his hands, good things generally happen for the offense. He also has a sturdy frame, which makes him even more NBA-ready. He is crafty with the ball in his hands and is comfortable putting it on the deck when needed.

For any team looking to add center depth and is willing to take on an older prospect, Post would be a great addition.
