Efe Abogidi
Forward | G League Ignite
Height: 6'10” | Weight: 225 lbs
2023 Draft Age: 21.69
Prospect Profile
Abogidi is an older prospect relative to some of these others, but could shape up to be a fantastic role player off the bench. He's productive on both ends and makes winning plays. He's got experience at both the college and G League level already and was solid in both situations. Abogidi may end up being undrafted, but would be a fantastic signing for any team. He didn't get as much praise as some of his teammates throughout the season, but the forward quietly had a really underrated campaign.
The former Washington State prospect was overshadowed for most of the recent G League season, but could be a sleeper in the 2023 NBA Draft. Abogidi's high energy and motor impacts winning in ways that can't be measured on the box score.
At Washington State, he posted averages of 8.4 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.6 over two seasons. While he was turnover prone at times for a big, Abogidi was a primary starter for most of his time as a Cougar. Last season in the G League, he produced similar numbers with a higher level of competition, and continued to showcased his potential upside as a floor spacer. He didn’t take a ton of triples or make them at a high clip, but his willingness to step out was promising. He’s also a quality free throw shooter at his position which is further reason for optimism.
At the next level, Abogidi projects to be more of a situational big and role player, but has the motor to make impact plays. He will need further improve as a 3-point shooter and develop more moves in the post, but he will give good minutes to a team off the bench. On both ends, he’s skilled and extremely mobile, which fits the modern game well.
When playing at Washington State, he played alongside another draft prospect in Mouhamed Gueye. With the Ignite he played with several more future NBA talents. In both situations, he played well and flashed solid upside.
