Prospect Profile

A gifted athlete with physically dominant tools, Cyril is still working to become more polished as a player overall, especially on the offensive end. Even then, he has the baseline skillset that should already have NBA teams intrigued. Not only does he have tremendous size, but he’s mobile and boats a good motor.

When Cyril gets going, he’s hard to stop. He’s great at carrying momentum from a play on one end to the other. Especially in transition, he’s able to make things happen with his rim-running and impressive to speed. In halfcourt settings, he has a wide frame that allows him to set good screens and is a quality lob threat who can finish with incredible power. Cyril dunks almost everything he possibly can and has effortless bounce. It also helps that he has good hands.

The downside to Cyril’s game — and part of the reason his offensive game isn’t as impressive as other bigs in his class — is that he doesn’t really shoot jumpers. That’s especially true as he gets further from the basket, most notably from beyond the arc. That will limit him in some respects as a prospect in the modern game, but that doesn’t mean he can’t become a very impactful NBA center.

Cyril really has a ton of room to improve on the offensive end and that’s where he’s most raw. He sometimes makes little mistakes but has shown improvement as a decision-maker over the past year or two. Conversely, he’s an elite rebounder who can absolutely dominate the glass when he puts in the effort. The Georgia freshman has the sheer mass and strength to move everyone out of the path of the ball to secure rebounds and the leaping ability to sky over opposing players.

Defensively, Cyril has a ton of upside as a rim protector. He serves as a wide anchor in the paint with his long wingspan and ability to move quickly at his size. He has quick feet and can get into passing lanes, plus has the strong frame to hold his own against nearly anyone in the paint.

Cyril spent the past few years at Overtime Elite, where he refined his skills in a professional-level system. He originally committed to Kentucky, but flipped to Georgia following the departure of John Calipari. Cyril declared for the 2024 NBA Draft to get feedback from teams given he was eligible, but ultimately was always going to play at least one college season. It may take two years for him to hit his stride at the college level, but he is the type of player who should develop quickly. He’s built better than nearly anyone in this class for his age.
