Prospect Profile

A Greek prospect with the chance to climb draft boards in the coming months, Avdalas has a diverse skillset to pair with his great positional size. His archetype is one that has seen much success in the NBA, which will help pave his pathway to earning minutes early in his career.

Avdalas has an offensive game that allows for flexible lineups, which will be very attractive to NBA teams. Whether he operates as a point guard to set up teammates or as more of an off-ball wing alongside other ball handlers, he fits in so many different types of lineups. Ultimately, operating as a point forward at the NBA level is what seems most likely. When he does have the ball in his hands, Avdalas has a great handle and can change pace quickly. When he wants to get to the rim, he has explosiveness and quickness that allows him to get past his defender. 

Especially over the past year, Avdalas has improved his 3-point shot, and if he’s able to further prove that upside in the pre-draft process he will rise up boards. He’s a confident player offensively who loves taking on great responsibility and making the biggest plays. He doesn’t shrink in the spotlight, which is a trait that is desirable. 

On the defensive end, Avdalas’ size and athleticism should allow him to defend multiple positions. He’s a smart team defender, which raises his floor on that end, but he continues to progress as an individual defender as he gets more reps against better competition. He still needs to improve at the point of attack and defending in isolation scenarios, but there’s reason to believe he can get there. 

Avdalas has been able to gain professional experience, even at the senior level, since he was just 17 years old. Now, he has the archetype, skillset and experience to ultimately be one of the more impactful players in this upcoming draft class. He’ll have the chance to be the next Greek prospect to make it to the NBA level and do great things.
