Prospect Profile

Known for being an elite shooter, Brea took his talents to Kentucky for this season after four quality years at Dayton. Not only does he have positional size, but he shot nearly 50% from beyond the arc in his fourth collegiate season on more than six attempts per game.

While shooting is his best trait, Brea brings more than that to the table. Of course, NBA teams will covet his size and floor spacing above all other qualities, but he’s more than just a shooter. He’s a tough shotmaker overall. The majority of his attempts come from beyond the arc in catch-and-shoot scenarios, but he’s also a capable movement shooter from all over the floor, even in the midrange. He’s also a decent complimentary passer who has connective upside as an off-ball threat. This is especially important with the gravity and hard closeouts he demands.

On the defensive end, Brea isn’t known for being an elite player but has the length and lateral quickness to hold his own. Given he’s a 6-foot-6 guard/wing, he can defend multiple positions. The Kentucky winh is a solid athlete and has gotten stronger in recent years which has helped on that end. Brea has also proven to be a disciplined defender who plays within himself. This will be the side of the ball that could swing his draft stock the most, as he will be defending the best of the best in the SEC this season. He could struggle if he doesn't elevate his play defensively.

Although he’s an older prospect who will have five collegiate seasons under his belt ahead of the 2025 NBA Draft, Brea’s shooting alone will draw interest from contending teams around the league who need instant impact rookies. He initially declared for the 2024 NBA Draft, but opted to withdraw and transfer to Kentucky and prove he can produce against the best competition in the country.
