Prospect Profile

A Serbian forward, Markovic is one of the country’s premier prospects with his ability to play forward or center. He’s one of the more well-rounded frontcourt prospects in this upcoming draft class and can operate inside and out on the offensive end.

While he’s not overly athletic, Markovic plays with good energy and is mobile. It’s easy to see his IQ when watching him play, with an archetype and skillset that are perfect for the modern game in the frontcourt. The 6-foot-11 forward is a good secondary passer and connector within the flow of the offense. Markovic can really do some unique things on that end when he’s on the floor, especially in screen action since he can pop and space the floor.

The versatility at his size is what makes Markovic special. He does a little bit of everything, boasting good coordination and fluidity. He is becoming a three-level scorer and getting better at putting the ball on the deck, but still really needs to continue working on that to be effective at the next level. He’s also a transition threat, given he can pull it down and run, or can simply be an effective rim runner,

Bigger picture, Markovic needs to develop his frame, but is still a good rebounder in the meantime. There’s no question that at his age he is still developing and the recent improvement is evident. Markovic has proven to be a defender at times with his size, even without being an elite athlete. He’s just very smart on the court and processes the game quickly which also helps on the defensive end. He makes good reads and rotates properly which generally results in him being in the right spot.

Markovic is getting phenomenal experience leading up to the draft, playing with KK Mega Basket and developing as one of the most interesting international prospects in this class. The Serbian forward turns 20 shortly after the 2025 NBA Draft, so he isn’t as young as some of his peers in this class.
