Prospect Profile

Scott gained the attention of NBA scouts during his first three collegiate seasons at North Texas, but is now at St. John’s where he should get more exposure. It will be a huge year for him, as he looks to really round out his game in a new system under Rick Pitino.

What makes Scott stand out is his perimeter shooting and positional size. At 6-foot-7, he’s a legitimate floor spacer who demands attention. Over the past few seasons, he’s improved as a 3-point shooter and has also increased his volume. He also has tremendous length which combats his slender frame, but is very quick for a player of his height.

Scott is also an underrated passer and solid positional rebounder. He doesn’t take many shots for the minutes he plays, making him an efficient complimentary scorer. He’s an off-ball threat who can also put it on the deck when needed. In short, he isn't the ball-dominant, high-scoring wing that generally gets first-round attention, but still is an interesting prospect.

While he isn’t an elite defender, his positional size should allow him to develop into a switchy and versatile player on that end of the floor at the next level. He has all of the tools to become a very impactful NBA defender, which will pair nicely with his 3-point shooting. He won’t be a star in the league, but can still bring a lot of value. His defensive disruptiveness to this point is enough to buy his development as a defender in the future.

A former three-star recruit, Scott has quite a bit of college experience but will still be 21 on draft night. He’s a unique player who brings NBA readiness but is also young enough that he has untapped upside. As we get closer to the 2025 NBA Draft, he could be a riser who lands with a contending team in the second round.
