During a recent interview with Vlad TV, St. Louis rapper Chingy was asked about Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant. Chingy was honest, calling out Morant's "stupidity" following two gun video incidents, but he also provided some nuanced dialogue about the point guard's path to correcting his behavior.

"When you get into the NBA, or you get into these leagues, and you know they got these restrictions and how they are - if you really want to be successful, and really want to make it and establish some type of wealthy content lifestyle for yourself... it's alright to let the hood sh-t go," Chingy said. "Let that go. I've seen the video of [Morant] too, with the gun and stuff - stupidity. Only thing I can say, stupidity."

While Chingy was critical of Morant's decision making, he also added some reason for optimism about the Grizzlies star turning things around, saying, "At least he's trying to apologize and show that he's trying to make a change. How old is he? I mean, come on. He's entitled actually to mistakes... He's gonna make some mistakes, but what you can do is just lend a helping hand sometimes and try to help him."

While Chingy acknowledged the "stupidity" of Morant's behavior, he urged those around him to try to understand why he is acting this way, and try to help him.
