During the latest episode of the Late Night Lake Show podcast, former Los Angeles Lakers All-Star Nick Van Exel was asked to list his top playmakers in the NBA. Including Steph Curry, Luka Doncic, and Trae Young on his list, Van Exel also added Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant.

"Oh yeah, Ja... I'm gonna put Ja in there. He can really make plays and make guys better, and be flashy with his own sh-t at the end of the day," Van Exel said.

While Morant is one of the most electric players in the NBA, his game is much more diverse than his high-flying dunks. A very good playmaker, Morant has been amongst the top of the NBA in assists per game since entering the league, and finished 5th in that category last season.

Still just 24 years old, Morant is still evolving his game, and will only become an even better playmaker. Struggling with tunnel vision at times, Morant will continue growing in his ability to make plays for his teammates as he gets more experience. Already one of the best in the league in that category, the Grizzlies star has the potential to reach an exclusive tier of playmakers.

This was high praise for Morant from the former Lakers All-Star, as Van Exel was an elite playmaker during his time in the NBA as well.
