Memphis Grizzlies star Jaren Jackson Jr. has already established himself as one of the NBA’s best defense players, having won the Defensive Player of the Year award last season. While his defensive game is well documented, Jackson has shown flashes of real offensive upside as well, especially when called upon as a primary option in the absence of Ja Morant.

A centerpiece for Team USA’s FIBA World Cup squad, Jackson should have an opportunity to showcase his all-around skillset this summer. In a recent video shared by USA Basketball, Jackson spoke on his decision to be a part of this roster.

"It was a no-brainer for me," Jackson said on joining Team USA.

Jackson also revealed in this video that his basketball inspiration growing up was his father, saying, "I always wanted to be like my dad. I always wanted to do what he did. He played basketball in the NBA for like 13 years. You always want to be like your dad, so it was kind of that sort of thing at first, and then you fall in love with it on your own. It makes it a little bit easier, because you can ask for a lot more advice, you can pick brain more, get game.

Wanting to be like his father, Jackson is certainly making him proud with everything he has done during his basketball career.
