Grizzlies Star Reveals Motivation From Losing to Lakers in Playoffs
Last season ended about as poor as possible for the Memphis Grizzlies. They started the season claiming that they were "fine in the west", then claimed that they wanted the Lakers in the first round of the NBA Playoffs, then lost to a 7th seeded Lakers team in the playoffs.
When it comes to needing bulletin board material in the off-season, Jaren Jackson Jr. doesn't need anything more than how last season ended. Jackson spoke with Taylor Tucker of Action 5 News where gave a candid answer on last season's disappointing ending.
“There’s no more motivation I need than how we left last year,” Jackson said. “It definitely was a moment you’re going to remember, and you have to make something good out of it. If it don’t make sense, it doesn’t matter, so we are just going to put it together.”
If there's one thing that the Memphis Grizzlies really need next season it's a chip on their shoulder. The time for talking trash is done, the time for having fun and games is done, it's time for the team to start stomping on other team's throats. Teams need to actually fear playing the Memphis Grizzlies, instead of looking forward to shutting them up. Hopefully, based on Jaren Jackson Jr's. comments, the team has that same epiphany themselves.
