It's been a very tough year for Ja Morant, and it's only gotten tougher after his unexpected hand injury.

With the way things are looking, it seems as if Ja Morant won't be available to play in Game 2 against the Los Angeles Lakers, and it definitely seems like it's taking a toll on him.

"Honestly, man, I don't know," Morant said. "At this point, I'm not even surprised with how my life is going. Back-to-back."

Morant added that his hand hurts more the day after the injury was sustained than the day it happened. He believes his teammates will be able to win Game 2 without him since they've done it before.

"If I'm out there or not, I feel like we got a lot of recognition for how well our guys have played when I'm out," Morant said. "There's no doubt in my mind, with me, or without me, on the court. I believe we can win those games."

While many are quick to fault Morant for what's happened to him this year, it's easy to forget he's only 23 years old. This is his first big injury during the playoffs, and that's something that carries over after being on the court. It's clear Morant is in a very tough place mentally.

"It's very tough," Morant said about his mental health. "Stressful. Obviously, I feel like you guys can tell with my body language and stuff now. How, I'm pretty much taking what happened and I don't know man, I'm just pretty much numb to everything now. It's like, I'm not even surprised, it's one thing after another."

It was already going to be a tough battle for the Memphis Grizzlies to defeat the Los Angeles Lakers without Steven Adams and Brandon Clarke, but it looks like the road is about to get even harder without Morant.
