Ja Morant’s Friend Arrested for Physical Altercation
The longtime friend of Ja Morant, Davonte Pack, has officially been arrested. Pack has been arrested for misdemeanor assault for hitting a teenager at Ja Morant's house last year on July 26, 2022.
Ja Morant previously admitted to police that he did hit 17-year-old Joshua Holloway during a pickup basketball game, but Morant did claim that it was also self-defense. Morant and Pack have been seen together during numerous incidents - most recently when Morant showed a gun during an Instagram Live video. Pack was also banned from Grizzlies games for a year due to confronting Pacers players during a game. ESPN also obtained the warrant issued for Pack, which they revealed.
"Investigators were provided with medical records dated July 27, 2022 that show Holloway sustained bodily injury to include a hematoma to the scalp, sore jaw and headaches in the area of where Pack struck him."
Davonte Pack may be a close friend of Ja Morant, but he's been a horrible person for Ja to be around. Time after time, Pack has been involved in incidents that jeopardized Morant's career. Granted, Morant deserves huge blame himself for all these incidents, but step one of fixing the situation is no longer socializing with peers like Pack. Hopefully, that's something Ja Morant can see for himself during this most recent suspension.
