Ja Morant's Return From Suspension Game Revealed
The NBA has officially released the 2023-24 NBA schedule, which means the Memphis Grizzlies know exactly when Ja Morant will be eligible to return from suspension. After the star point guard serves his 25-game suspension, Morant will be eligible to return on December 19th vs. the New Orleans Pelicans. The NBA will nationally televise that game on TNT.
Assuming both players are healthy and available for that matchup, fans should get their first look of the season at Zion Williamson vs. Ja Morant. The players who were selected first and second overall in the 2019 NBA Draft have faced off six times in their careers, with the most recent matchup coming on December 31st, 2022.
This will be a very highly anticipated game, as the Grizzlies and their fans are already gearing up for the return of Ja Morant. It will be hard on the Grizzlies to stay afloat in his absence, but the team has proven the ability to navigate life without their star point guard over the last few seasons. While they of course prefer to have Morant in the mix, the Grizzlies have done well to win games without him whenever he has missed time.
Memphis projects to be in the playoff mix again next season after finishing second in the Western Conference a year ago. The team will look to make a run once they get their point guard back in mid-December.
