Ja Morant's Status For Grizzlies vs Magic Revealed
The Memphis Grizzlies went weeks without Ja Morant after his suspension, and it looks like they may be without him again tonight.
Ja Morant is officially listed as doubtful against the Orlando Magic due to right thigh soreness.
It's unknown whether or not Morant suffering from a new injury or whether the team may be managing him for the back-to-back against the LA Clippers on Wednesday night. Thigh soreness doesn't sound especially serious for Morant, and he's likely doubtful due to the back-to-back.
The Memphis Grizzlies definitely should not be overlooking the Orlando Magic tonight. Orlando has been a very solid team since the All-Star break and just recently beat the Clippers themselves.
Looking ahead, the Grizzlies have eight games left in the season and are only 3.5 games behind the Denver Nuggets for the first seed. At the same time, they're 2.5 games ahead of the Sacramento Kings for the second seed. The next eight games for the Memphis Grizzlies are as follows: Orlando Magic, LA Clippers, LA Clippers, Chicago Bulls, Portland Trail Blazers, New Orleans Pelicans, Milwaukee Bucks, and Oklahoma City Thunder.
In all likelihood, the Grizzlies will stay the second seed - they won't pass up the Nuggets and won't drop down to the Kings. However, beating the Orlando Magic is something they definitely need to do, because five of their remaining games are against very desperate teams.
