After his first 7 games, Grizzlies rookie Ja Morant, was putting up numbers that placed him in rare air. Now his numbers have come down to earth...

It happens...

NBA rookies have high highs and low lows.  It's just a part of transition into the best pro league in basketball and playing with the best players in the world.  After beginning the season averaging 20.4 points per game and shooting 52.3 percent from the field after 7 games, Morant has had a rough last two games averaging 8.5 points per game and shooting 5-25 from the field for 20 percent. The Grizzlies matchup against the Charlotte Hornets (4-6) on Wednesday, after a fantastic win on Monday against the Spurs and Morant will have a chance to get back on track.

Morant will be matched up against Charlotte's Terry Rozier III, who is averaging 15.2 points, 5.1 assists and 3.8 rebounds per game.  He is shooting 33.9 percent from three and 38.5 percent overall from the field.  "Scary Terry" is a confident and cocky guard who is often labeled as being more confident than he is competent on the court.  The fourth-year, 6'1" guard is known for his ability to finish but is still developing his shot and decision making.  Rozier was acquired by Charlotte in a sign and trade deal this past summer for Kemba Walker.

A bounce-back game for Morant could be simple.  He's been excellent, for the most part, this season and after two bad games, it wouldn't surprise anyone to see Morant come back to form. It is too early in Morant's career to deem his as a finished product, and his rookie campaign while extremely promising and productive so far, will have some ebbs and flows. The Hornets and Grizzlies tip-off at 6:00 P.M. Wednesday night and here's to seeing Ja get back to doing 'Ja things.'
