Updated Injury Report: Grizzlies vs. Thunder
With both teams having already locked in seeding, the Memphis Grizzlies and OKC Thunder are resting almost everybody for their season finale on Sunday afternoon. For Memphis, they are expected to be without Steven Adams, Santi Aldama, Desmond Bane, Dillon Brooks, Brandon Clarke, Jaren Jackson Jr., Tyus Jones, Jake LaRavia, and Ja Morant. Ziaire Williams is also listed on the injury report, but he is probable to play.
It is worth noting that Aldama, Bane, Brooks, Jackson, Jones, and Morant are all listed as doubtful as opposed to out, but the expectation is that all of them will rest this final game of the season. For OKC, they do not have anybody listed as doubtful or probable, as they have already ruled out Lu Dort, Josh Giddey, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Chet Holmgren, Jalen Williams, Jaylin Williams, Kenrich Williams, and Aleksej Pokusevski.
There are no real rooting interests for either team in this game, because as previously mentioned, both are locked into their respective positions in the standings. The Grizzlies will finish the year as the Western Conference's second seed, while OKC will finish 10th and in the play-in tournament.
With the postseason now right around the corner, it makes sense for these two teams to take a cautious approach to the final game of the season. There is no reason to risk injury to any top contributors for a game that has zero real significance.
