No team has been hit harder by injuries this season than the Memphis Grizzlies. With countless injuries to key players, Memphis has relied on several players who were not on the roster to begin the season, and recently made NBA history with their 31st player used this season.

When newly signed guard Zavier Simpson checked into Saturday's game vs. the Orlando Magic, the Grizzlies set an NBA record for the most players used in a single season:

While Memphis has discovered some solid players who project to help them beyond this season, a record like this can only be set in a year that did not go according to plan. The Grizzlies have done well to use all of their injuries as opportunities to look at different players, but it's been all of these injuries that have placed the Grizzlies well out of the postseason picture as the season winds down.

There is optimism in Memphis that this team has the ability to reenter the playoff picture as soon as next season, but this year has certainly been a disappointing one. Starting the season without Ja Morant for 25 games as he served his suspension, Memphis got him back for just nine games before he was sidelined for the rest of the year with a shoulder injury.

It has been a tough year for Memphis, but they hope to bounce back next season.
