2024 NBA All-Star Saturday Night: How To Watch and Livestream the Three-Point Contest, Dunk Contest, Skills Challenge, and Steph vs Sabrina
All-Star Saturday night is one day away and it is going to be an eventful night.
For Hawks fans, Trae Young is going to be competing in the skills challenge and the three-point contest.
For the Skills Challenge, Young is going to be teamed up with Raptors forward Scottie Barnes and Tyrese Maxey on "Team All-Star". They will be facing Team Pacers (Tyrese Haliburton, Myles Turner, and Benedict Mathurin), and Team Top Picks (Victor Wembanyama, Anthony Edwards, and Paolo Banchero). In the three-point contest, Young will face Karl Anthony-Towns, Donovan Mitchell, Lauri Markkanen, Damian Lillard, Tyrese Haliburton, Jalen Brunson, and Maik Beasley.
So what are the oddsmakers saying about Saturday night?
Lillard (+370) is the favorite to defend his title as the three-point champion, but not by much. Haliburton (+440), Young (+550), Beasley (+650), Brunson (+700), Towns (+700), Markkanen (+800), and Mitchell (+950) are all viable candidates to win the title.
I think that Beasley is an interesting pick for this weekend, as is Young. Of the players involved in the contest, Beasley has the highest three-point percentage among them at 45%, which is 7th in the NBA. I think if there is one player that is overvalued a little bit in the odds market, I think it is Haliburton. He is second in the odds, yet does not have as high of a three-point percentage as Beasley, Markkanen, and Brunson.
I think that Young is going to win his first All-Star Saturday night event. Picking these contests is hard, but I am going to go for the first-time winner and one player who can hit from a distance. Young is third in the NBA in three-pointers made and neither of the players in front of him (Steph Curry and Luka Doncic) are participating in this contest.
Mac McClung, G League’s Osceola Magic (2023 dunk contest winner) Jacob Toppin (New York Knicks) G League’s Westchester Knicks Jaylen Brown (Boston Celtics), and Jaime Jaquez Jr of the Miami Heat are the dunk contest participants this year.
Steph Curry and New York Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu are going to compete in a three-point contest.
Here is how you can watch everything on Saturday night.
