The Hawks had a tough week last week. It started with an in-season tournament win over the Detroit Pistons without Trae Young, but they lost another game to the New York Knicks in a game they should have won and they capped the week off by losing their first in-season tournament game against the Philadelphia 76ers. Atlanta is now 6-6 and in 9th place in the Eastern Conference going into the week.

Atlanta has not played since the Friday night loss and they will have extended rest before they play the Indiana Pacers on Tuesday night, a virtual must-win when it comes to the in-season tournament. The Pacers are currently in fourth place in the Eastern Conference and have the top offense in the NBA right now, averaging 126 PPG. Tyrese Haliburton still looks like a superstar on the rise and leads the league in assists, averaging 12.5 per game.

After playing the Pacers on Tuesday night, Atlanta will have the second part of their back-to-back on Wednesday and host the Brooklyn Nets. The Nets are 10th in the East and both teams have similar records. This result could matter if both are still hoping to contend for a top-six spot. The Nets have an interesting collection of players headlined by Mikal Bridges, but they don't seem to have a great team.

The week will conclude with the Hawks second matchup against the Washington Wizards, who are arguably the worst team in the NBA. The Hawks won the first matchup between them and will look to do so again on the road this Saturday.
