The Hawks are fresh off of their win against the San Antonio Spurs in their annual MLK day game and Atlanta is hoping to piece more wins together with several home games remaining in January.

The next time the Hawks will get on the court will be on Wednesday night against the Orlando Magic. The Hawks are 1-1 against the Magic this season, winning in Mexico City and then losing the rematch in Orlando recently.

Atlanta just released its injury report for tomorrow night and there are no surprises on it. Mouhamed Gueye (right low back stress fracture), De’Andre Hunter (right knee inflammation), Vit Krejci (left shoulder subluxation), and Wesley Matthews (right calf strain) are all out for Atlanta.

It is no secret that the Atlanta Hawks have been one of the worst third-quarter teams in the NBA all season. They are currently 27th in third-quarter net rating, with a rating of -13.4. The Hawks have blown many leads in the third quarter this year and almost allowed the Spurs to come back from a 35-point deficit.

San Antonio outscored the Hawks 33-18 in the third quarter and the Hawks' offense went ice cold. They were not getting the easy points in the paint like the first half and Trae Young was being defended much better than he had up to that point.

Hawks head coach Quin Snyder was asked about the team's third-quarter struggles after the win yesterday and here is what he had to say:

"It is obviously something that we are aware of, whether we are 30th or 29th or 25th. When you look at how we started the game tonight, that is in us. Starting the third quarter the way we started the game... and really you know, the third quarter stands out and sometimes it is the ten-minute mark in the fourth to the five-minute mark and sometimes it is the two-minute mark... those swings for us, we just have to get better at not allowing a six or eight-point run into a 15-2 run.

So certainly coming out of halftime, that is a specific topic we can focus because it is there and it is nothing that we are not aware of, we just have to lock in and to your point, whether we are ahead or behind, that is the key thing for me. We have to play the same way when we are down and that is the focus that I am talking about."

Atlanta is going to have to fix their third-quarter issues if they want to build on their win yesterday and try and turn their season around. The next opportunity comes tomorrow vs the Magic.
