Atlanta Hawks vs Philadelphia 76ers: Start time, where to watch, betting odds
After not playing an in-season tournament game for the first couple of weeks, Atlanta is set to play their second one just this week. It also happens to be a matchup against one of the NBA's best teams.
Atlanta and Philadelphia played in a memorable playoff series a couple of years ago and tonight, the 76ers are back in town. This team made the big move to trade James Harden and since then, they have not missed a beat. Last year's MVP Joel Embiid is playing like he wants to be this year's MVP and Tyrese Maxey is also playing at a high level. They have a good supporting cast and while there is a long way to go, they look as if they will be just as good as last year.
There could be some crucial injuries to watch on the Philadelphia side.
Kelly Oubre and Nic Batum are both out for the 76ers and Embiid is questionable. If Embiid is not able to go, that will be a huge blow to Philadelphia (duh) and Maxey will have to shoulder the offense. With the Hawks being favored by 1.5 points, it makes me wonder if Embiid will play because Atlanta should not be favored, even at home, if Philadelphia has Embiid.
Ahead of the game tomorrow, Atlanta released its injury report and there is nothing new there. After coming back for yesterday's game, Trae Young is not on the injury report for tomorrow's game against Philadelphia. The only two players on there are rookies Kobe Bufkin and Mouhamed Gueye.
Both players have been on the injury report and this past Sunday, Atlanta had a more detailed report on the two players:
"Guard Kobe Bufkin underwent an X-ray and medical review yesterday on his left thumb, which he fractured on Nov. 2. He will continue to be reviewed weekly and his rehabilitation will progress based on his healing. His return to play timeline is 8-to-10 weeks from the date of injury.
Forward Mouhamed Gueye, who has missed the last two games with a right lower back strain, underwent an MRI yesterday at the Emory Sports Medicine Complex. The MRI revealed a right low back stress fracture. He will be re-evaluated in four weeks and his status will be updated as appropriate."
