Hawks Announce Starting Five for Tonight's Matchup With Hornets

Atlanta faces Charlotte tonight at 7:00 p.m.

The Hawks are getting ready to tip off their season tonight against the Charlotte Hornets and Atlanta has just revealed the starting lineup that they will be using tonight vs the Hornets.

Trae Young, Dejounte Murray, De'Andre Hunter, Saddiq Bey, and Clint Capela are going to be the starters for Atlanta. This lineup should not come as a surprise, as it was the starting lineup for the last preseason game against the 76ers last Friday. One thing that will be interesting to watch is the play of both Bey and Jalen Johnson. This is going to be a position to follow all season and if Johnson were to outplay Bey for several games, he could find himself in the starting lineup before too long.

The Hornets are starting LaMelo Ball, Terry Rozier, Gordan Hayward, P.J. Washington, and Mark Williams.

For the game tonight, Atlanta will be without Wesley Matthews, who is out with a mild calf strain. Matthews is going to be reevaluated in two weeks.

Matthews is a veteran player in his first season with the Hawks who will likely have a role at some point this season and hopefully, he can get healthy soon.

As for the Hornets, they are going to be without Cody Martin (knee), Miles Bridges (Suspension), James Bouknight (knee), and Frank Ntilikina (tibia). Bryce McGowens is also doubtful.
