Hawks Keep Same Starting Lineup for Matchup With Knicks
It is time for another night of Hawks basketball!
Atlanta has their home opener for the 2023-2024 season and they are welcoming in the New York Knicks. The Hawks and the Knicks have had some memorable moments and games over the past few seasons and tonight promises to be another good matchup between these teams.
The Hawks and Knicks split the regular season series 2-2 last season, with the Hawks securing a victory in Madison Square Garden on 11/2, 112-99, and a 139-124 win on 1/20 in State Farm Arena (Per Hawks PR).
Atlanta's opening night starting lineup consisted of Trae Young, Dejounte Murray, De'Andre Hunter, Saddiq Bey, and Clint Capela. Atlanta had four main guys to come off of the bench. Jalen Johnson, Bogdan Bogdanovic, AJ Griffin, and Onyeka Okongwu will likely be the only guys off the bench tonight, but things can change from game to game.
One thing that is not going to change is the starting lineup for the Hawks tonight. Atlanta is going to go with the same starting lineup of Young, Murray, Hunter, Bey, and Capela tonight.
The Knicks' starting lineup was Jalen Brunson, Quentin Grimes, RJ Barrett, Julius Randle, and Mitchell Robinson.
Things I am going to be watching tonight will be how the offense attacks the tough Knicks defense and how the Hawks will try and defend Jalen Brunson. Brunson is the best offensive player on the Knicks by a large margin and if the Hawks can slow him down, I like their chances to get a win tonight.
The Atlanta Hawks are a pretty healthy team going into their home opener against the New York Knicks on Friday night, with one exception. Veteran forward Wesley Matthews remains out with a mild right calf strain.
