Hawks vs Timberwolves: Minnesota Getting Key Starter back vs Atlanta
The Atlanta Hawks and the Minnesota Timberwolves are set to face each other tonight in Atlanta and Minnesota is going to be getting back one of their starters for this game.
Forward Jaden McDaniels, who has not played this season for Minnesota, is back in the starting lineup for the Timberwolves head coach Chris Finch announced before the game.McDaniels is replacing Nickeil Alexander-Walker, who had been starting in his place and Finch said that Alexander-Walker would be back to running with the second unit.
Before the season, McDaniels signed a five-year $136 Million Dollar extension with the Timberwolves. He is one of their best perimeter defenders and is a knockdown three-point shooter that makes their lineup versatile and dangerous.
No new additions to the injury report for Atlanta aside from Wesley Matthews being ruled out.
It was a great wire-to-wire performance for the Hawks last night on the road in Milwaukee. The defense was fantastic in the first half, holding Damian Lillard to zero points and leading by 21.
Milwaukee could not pull close in the second half and the Hawks cruised to an easy victory over the Bucks. Young finished with 20 points and 11 assists, Capela had 12 points and 12 rebounds, and Johnson had 14 points and seven rebounds. Atlanta shot 50.5% from the field and 40.5% from three-point range. It was an overall fantastic performance from the team and a great way to get in the win column.
Minnesota had a loss to the Toronto Raptors in their first game this season but bounced back with a win against the Miami Heat on Saturday.
Minnesota is led by one of the NBA's young superstars Anthony Edwards, who is averaging 22.5 PPG so far this season, shooting 35.7% from the field and 58.3% from three-point range. Rudy Gobert is averaging over 13 RPG and two blocks per game so far.
