NBA Standings: Lookin At the Eastern Conference Post-Thanksgiving
Thanksgiving is now over and after the entire NBA was off yesterday, they will be back in action tonight, but before everyone starts playing again, let's take a look at the Eastern Conference.
In perhaps the biggest matchup of the week and one of the biggest in the season, Boston defeated Milwaukee and remains on top of the Eastern Conference. Both teams could meet in the Eastern Conference Finals in the playoffs and Boston looked like the much better team on Wednesday.
Orlando is one of the hottest teams in the NBA and they find themselves in second place in the conference. They picked up a huge win against the Nuggets this week and look like a team that is taking the step forward after years of rebuilding.
Milwaukee, Philadelphia, and Miami are all at 10-5 and are at spots 3-5. Philadelphia has cooled off a bit since their hot start, but they still have the makings of a dangerous team.
Indiana survived an epic shootout against the Hawks and their offense is as good as any in the NBA. The defense needs a lot of work, but the Pacers are a fun watch every night.
New York, Cleveland, Atlanta, and Toronto make up the current play-in teams and they all are within a game of each other.
Brooklyn dropped a game to Atlanta this week and are on the outside looking in. The good news for them is that Mikal Bridges scored 45 points in the game vs Atlanta.
Charlotte won a couple of games this week and LaMelo Ball is actually having a great start to the season, at least on offense. Chicago looks like they are heading towards a full rebuild, or at least that is what they should be doing.
Washington and Detroit remain at the bottom.
