Trae Young Claps Back at Atlanta Sports Radio Host
Atlanta Hawks point guard Trae Young has been on the warpath since his NBA All-Star Game snub. Young has racked up back-to-back 34-point games in two winning efforts since the break.
It is a return to form for the All-NBA guard, who started the season with an uncharacteristic shooting slump. To make matters worse, Young has become public enemy number one with influential sports radio hosts in Atlanta.
Beginning with Young's well-documented disagreement with Nate McMillan during a morning shootaround through the coach's firing last week, many radio show hosts at 92.9 FM The Game have attacked the 24-year-old's leadership and play style.
After hitting a game-winning buzzer-beater against the Brooklyn Nets Sunday evening, Young tweeted an upbeat message about the win. Mike Bell of 92.9 FM quote-tweeted the post and said, "OK! Just more like last two."
Young replied, "Shut up ***. I don't play for you (laughing emoji)." Bell blithely replied, "Ha! Well I do pay for 10 season tickets so technically you do." Young clapped back, "You PAY to watch me. There's a difference in an OWNER #LEVELS (laughing and waving emoji)."
So, Young snatched the souls of Nets players and Bell on Sunday evening. Young is like the grim reaper knocking on doors meme, and nobody wants to be next. Stay locked into AllHawks.com for news, analysis, and interviews.
