Uniforms for Atlanta Hawks & Boston Celtics Series Set
Coaches and players can say every game means the same, but the NBA Playoffs just mean more. Everything from tickets to television commercials is more expensive. Everyone wants to put their best foot forward.
On the eve of the first round of the Eastern Conference Playoff series between the Atlanta Hawks and Boston Celtics, we now know what uniforms each team will wear in the first four games of the series.
Just as a quick refresher, Nike is the officially-licensed uniform supplier of the NBA, and each team has four uniforms (Association, Icon, Statement, and City). Teams can wear dark uniforms at home and light uniforms on the road, as long as it contrasts with their opponent.
In Game One, Boston will wear their dark green City Edition uniforms, and Atlanta will wear their white Association Edition uniforms. In Game Two, Boston will wear their white Association Edition uniforms, and Atlanta will wear their black Statement Edition Uniforms.
In Games Three and Four, Boston will wear their green Icon Edition uniforms, and Atlanta will wear their black Statement Edition Uniforms. If the series goes beyond four games, the teams will announce their uniform choices at a later date.
But for the first four games, each team is taking a different approach. Boston is mixing in three different uniforms, and Atlanta is opting to wear the same uniforms in all but one game. Whoever is in charge must have a strong affinity for the black jerseys.
Let's hope this series goes beyond four games so we get plenty of basketball and opportunities to see different uniforms for each team. Stay locked into AllHawks.com for news, highlights, and analysis.
