The Miami Heat were desperate heading into Sunday night with 10 consecutive losses. Losing to the lowly Charlotte Hornets would've put a dent in their postseason aspirations and mark a new low for the team.

Andrew Wiggins answered the call, nearing his career high in scoring with 42 points on 75 percent shooting from 3-point range. Wiggins has scored 72 points in the last two games, shooting 76.5 percent from the field.

Typically, a Charlotte win would garner positive reactions but nothing monumental. However, Heat fans were yearning for the feeling of victory where any semblance would satisfy them.

Wiggins' dominant performance almost took away from guard Tyler Herro, who had a star display on his own with 29 points, six rebounds, and three assists. Davion Mitchell, Bam Adebayo, and Kel'el Ware rounded out the scoring with double-digit performances, even for their 1-of-8 combined 3-point shooting performance.

The Heat play the Golden State Warriors (41-30) on Tuesday night. They will face former Heat star Jimmy Butler, who responded relatively nonchalantly to questions about his time in Miami.

“We was alright, we didn't win anything like we were supposed to," Butler said in a Sunday pregame interview. "So, I don't know. We made some cool runs. We had some fun. I think that's all we did.”
