A LeBron James Reunion With Miami Heat This Summer Still Ranks Among Possibilities
Some will argue LeBron James spent the best years of his Hall of Fame career with the Miami Heat.
Speculation has swirled all season about James being unhappy with the Los Angeles Lakers. He could easily land with another team this offseason, so SI.com's Rohan Nadkarni recently put together a list of potential destinations.
The Heat checked in at No. 5.
"Miami is kind of a legacy on this list as a previous James team and because he made it a point to publicly congratulate Erik Spoelstra on the massive extension Spo signed this season," Nadkarni wrote. "With the Heat struggling to break through to the very top during the Jimmy Butler era, adding James would obviously be a game-changer."
James played for the Heat from 2010-14, leading them to two championships in four straight NBA Finals appearances. He won a pair of regular season MVPs and Finals MVPs. He was arguably at the peak of his career.
A reunion would give James a chance at another title because the Heat are championship-ready with a roster that has made the Finals twice in the last four seasons.
Still, it seems more of a dream than reality.
"It would be fun to see James back in the East and battling some of his old rivals. If he does switch back conferences, though, there’s probably a better option," Nadkarni concluded.
