Are The Miami Heat Prepared To Face Boston Celtics, Milwaukee Bucks In Upcoming Road Trip?
The Miami Heat started their season with a narrow victory over the inexperienced Detroit Pistons, 103-102.
If the Heat hope to keep a winning record by next week, their level of play against Detroit won’t suffice.
Miami is headed on a three-game road trip, which begins Friday with a nationally televised game against the new-look Boston Celtics. The following night, they will face the Minnesota Timberwolves. The trip will conclude on Monday against Damian Lillard and the Milwaukee Bucks.
Heat superstar Jimmy Butler scored 19 points along with 13 rebounds and two steals in 34 minutes.
"I mean, I feel like everybody in this league got a high level of competition. So you really get to get tested early on with the guys that we about to go up against," Butler said postgame. "Talk about some extremely talented guys, some championship-caliber teams. It'll be fun. We'll see what we're made of right now. You know we wanna win, and that's the job that we’re trying to make happen whenever we get out there."
The Celtics took down the New York Knicks on Wednesday night. Stars Jayson Tatum and Kristaps Porzingis combined for 64 of the team’s points. Meanwhile, Milwaukee’s superstar duo of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Lillard will make their debut tonight against the Philadelphia 76ers.
These teams are the favorites to win the Eastern Conference this season. With the Heat struggling in their opener, coach Erik Spoelstra will need to make changes ahead of the trip.
