Bam Adebayo Describes Nikola Jokic As The NBA's Most Unguardable Player
Miami Heat All-Star Bam Adebayo is regarded as one of the NBA's top big men, but even he recognizes the greatness of Nikola Jokic.
Jokic and the Denver Nuggets took down the Heat in last season's NBA Finals. Adebayo recently appeared on former Heat players Udonis Haslem and Mike Miller's podcast, 'The OGs'.
Miller asked Adebayo, "Who's the toughest dude in the league to guard right now?"
Adebayo replied, "Gotta be big fella, the Serbian."
Haslem chimed in, "Man, that (expletive) is unreal, bro. I gotta take my glasses off to that guy...he don't jump, he don't run fast, you can't speed him up, you can't move him like I don't know."
"But then the thing that I am most like about him is like he don't flop, and I ain't saying, like you know, guys try to sell calls, but other than that, he not trying to get 16-17 free throws," Adebayo said. "No, he trying to get buckets."
Jokic's talents were on full display during the Finals, as he averaged 30.2 points, 14 rebounds, and 7.2 assists on 58.3 percent shooting. The two-time MVP is not dominant in a normal fashion but rather thrives off of his playmaking and unique offensive skillset.
Adebayo is an elite defender, but it is near impossible to keep up with the never-ending set of moves Jokic showcases.
