Bam Adebayo Revisits Udonis Haslem's Opinion On The Miami Heat Retiring Bill Russell's Jersey

Miami Heat center Bam Adebayo shared the story of how long-time Heat forward Udonis Haslem felt after the Miami Heat retired Boston Celtics legend Bill Russell's jersey
In this story:

Bam Adebayo and Udonis Haslem spent six seasons as teammates on the Miami Heat.

It's clear even after Haslem's retirement, the tandem has kept their connection. Adebayo came on to Haslem and Mike Miller's podcast where the Heat big man shared the story of a crazy pre-game speech.

"We playing Boston, so you know his feel on that, so dog, we in the huddle cap come in there, give his pre-game speech," Adebayo said. "You know they retired Bill Russell's jersey for everybody in the league, so they got six in our rafters, and he end his pre-game speech like

"Tell me when you're going to see a Miami Heat jersey hanging in Boston," Haslem interrupted.

"'(expletive) Bill Russell too' bro, I said, this man dead OG," Adebayo finished.

"I had to repent that, I love Bill. No disrespect to Bill," Haslem stated. "He just caught that stray. Respect to Bill Russell."

"Man caught a stray, and he six feet under man," Adebayo said.

The retired forward wasn't finished arguing his point.

"Why the (expletive) he got to hang in here the (expletive) that come out them people mouth when we playing there," Haslem exclaimed. "I might not take back what I said now that I think about it, the (expletive) that they say to us."

Haslem made clear he meant no disrespect towards the late Russell, but rather wanted to fire up his team prior to a game.
