Caleb Martin Comes Up Big In Leading Miami Heat Back To NBA Finals
The Miami Heat prided themselves on doing things the hard way this season.
On Monday, they made it look easy.
The Heat recovered from a slow start before taking control in a 103-84 victory Monday against the Boston Celtics in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference finals. The Heat advance to the NBA Finals to play the Denver Nuggets.
It is the Heat's second Finals appearance since 2020 and seventh in franchise history.
Martin led the charge after having a strong performance in his second straight game as a starter. He finished with 26 points and 10 rebounds to help make up for off games by Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo, the Heat's top two players. Butler did finished with 28 points but Martin did most of the heavy lifting when it counted.
The Heat are the second No. 8 seed to make the Finals, joining the 1999 New York Knicks. The Celtics were trying to become the first team to rally from a 3-0 deficit in NBA history.
