Chicago Bulls Star Lists Miami Heat As Preferred Trade Destination

Chicago Bulls forward Demar DeRozan mentioned the Miami Heat in list of potential landing spots

Every year in the NBA, a multitude of stars are involved in trade rumors.

The Miami Heat’s 12-10 start to the season places them in the mix for these players.

Among these names is Chicago Bulls forward Demar DeRozan. The veteran is averaging 21.8 points on 44.2 percent shooting in 21 games. According to The Athletic’s Shams Charania, one of DeRozan’s preferred trade destinations is the Heat.

“And now, as the Bulls have found their stride over the past week and are just one game out of a Play-In Tournament spot, teams will continue to monitor their approach with LaVine and DeMar DeRozan, who will be an unrestricted free agent in the offseason,” Charania wrote. “The Athletic’s Sam Amick recently reported that DeRozan’s preferred trade destinations are the New York Knicks and Miami Heat if he does end up being dealt.

Although DeRozan is showing interest in the Heat, Miami is unlikely to express a desire for him. He is known for his ability to create his own shot inside the arc, which mirrors that of forward Jimmy Butler. Not to mention, the Bulls asking price for DeRozan may exceed the Heat's limit.

It’s hard to imagine the Bulls would request anything less than guard Tyler Herro and multiple picks. Herro provides an additional dimension to Miami’s offense with his talent to score on all three levels. An aspect DeRozan lacks. With Herro’s versatility on the offensive end, it doesn’t make much sense for them to entertain this potential deal.
