Could Miami Heat Target Dorian Finney-Smith Or Reggie Bullock This Season?
The Miami Heat may be on the market for more wing help.
The Heat are reportedly interested in Brooklyn Nets forward Dorian Finney-Smith and Reggie Bullock according to HoopsHype.com. In today’s league, you can never have enough wings and shooting even if it’s just more bodies to throw at Jayson Tatum and Giannis Antetokounmpo during the playoffs.
Finney-Smith, who is 6-foot-7, is averaging 10.8 points per game along with 5.5 rebounds while shooting 44 percent from three-point range this season. He signed a four-year, $55-million dollar contract with the Dallas Mavericks, before being included in the Kyrie Irving trade that landed him with the Nets. He has a player option in 2025 with a base salary of $15.3 million. Finney-Smith has previously drawn interest from several teams and is expected to have a high asking price.
The other wing the Heat could be interested in is Houston Rockets forward Reggie Bullock, who they were also interested in this summer before he signed with the Houston Rockets. He’s averaging nearly 10 minutes after falling out of the rotation. A journeyman, Bullock is a career 38-percent shooter. He signed a one-year, $3.1 million dollar contract last summer but becomes a free agent at the end of this season.
Whether the Miami Heat make these moves or not, it seems they want to be active at the trade deadline. The Heat should feel confident with what they’ve seen this far from their roster and it’s no reason they shouldn’t be in the mix again for an Eastern Conference Finals.
