Damian Lillard Followed Miami Heat Legend Udonis Haslem

The Damian Lillard trade rumors heat up with his recent activity on social media.

Miami Heat fans are looking for any sign of acceleration in trading for Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard.

Well, the last couple days should give them signs of optimism.

Lillard unfollowed the Trail Blazers on Instagram, his first big action since his trade request early July. He then followed former Miami Heat veteran Udonis Haslem Sunday morning.

Trail Blazers general manager Joe Cronin said the trade could "take months" to resolve, but these moves signal the trade could happen soon.

That's music to the ears of South Florida basketball fans.

Lillard's shot selection, especially from 3-point range, should help improve Miami's lackluster offense. Jimmy Butler's superstar playoff performances can be reciprocated with another high-level scorer. If Butler underperforms, the Heat have someone else to step up in his absence.

Meanwhile, Bam Adebayo can focus on collecting boards and potentially earning his first Defensive Player of the Year award. Having Lillard alleviates the pressure of needing to constantly perform as the second offensive option.

Of course, these social media moves could potentially mean very little in the grand scheme of things. But Heat fans are probably already running with it, so we'll lean toward the deal occurring soon.
