Dwyane Wade Might Be Getting His Hall of Fame Call After Zach Thomas

Thomas was inducted to the Hall of Fame yesterday.

Former Miami Dolphins linebacker Zach Thomas was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2023. Thomas played for the Dolphins the majority of his career, where he earned five First-Team All-Pro selections and seven Pro Bowls while leading the league in tackles twice. Thomas was inducted in the same class as defensive greats such as Darrelle Revis and Demarcus Ware.

His South Florida counterpart Dwyane Wade is expected to receive similar honors next week.

The finalists for the Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2023 will be announced Feb. 17 during the NBA All-Star Weekend. Wade is a first-ballot Hall of Famer, holding a 100 percent induction probability by Basketball Reference.

Wade is regarded as one of the top shooting guards of all time. He had an illustrious career with the Miami Heat, earning 13 All-Star selections in his 16-year career. He led the Heat to victory against the Dallas Mavericks in the 2006 NBA Finals, where he won Finals MVP after averaging 34.7 points. Wade, LeBron James and Chris Bosh formed the Big Three that went to four straight Finals and won two titles in 2012 and 2013. He retired in 2019 as the most acclaimed player in franchise history.

Wade will be inducted with names like Dirk Nowitzki (Mavericks) and Tony Parker (San Antonio Spurs), both of whom he faced twice in the NBA Finals. He split the series against each of them in the NBA Finals.
