Eastern Conference Recap: Atlanta Hawks' Balanced Attack Overwhelms Milwaukee Bucks

The Atlanta Hawks had eight double digit scorers in victory against the Milwaukee Bucks.

TOP STORY OF THE NIGHT:

Trae Young and the Atlanta Hawks were off to a sluggish start in their first two losses of the season.

It's safe to say they found their footing against the Milwaukee Bucks Sunday night with a 17-point victory. Young's shooting efficiency was still below standard, but he led the way with 20 points, frequently getting to the free throw line. Hawks players like Dejounte Murray, Bogdan Bogdanovic, and De'Andre Hunter had solid contributions to balance Atlanta's offense.

Meanwhile, Bucks star Damian Lillard shot 17 percent from the field with just six points and six turnovers. Miami Heat fans were probably watching in glee, as they saw their top trade prospect underperform in another uniform. The Heat will get their own opportunity to face Lillard Monday night, as he searches for redemption after this lackluster performance.

"I'm not going into tomorrow like, 'This the team that I was supposed to be playing for' or any of that," Lillard said on facing Miami. "I know Jimmy, I know Bam, we're cool. But I play for the Bucks. I'm not going into it like, 'That's my former team' or nothing like that. It's just another game."

- The star duo of Tyrese Maxey and Joel Embiid once again came through for the Philadelphia 76ers in their blowout win over the Portland Trail Blazers. Embiid stuffed the stat sheet with 35 points, 15 rebounds, seven assists, and six blocks. Maxey had 26 points, 10 rebounds, and four assists. Tobias Harris also shined with a 24-point performance on 73 percent shooting.
