Even Paul Pierce Shows Love For LeBron James On Historic Night
LeBron James and Paul Pierce had their share of differences when they faced each other while playing for the Miami Heat and Boston Celtics.
Pierce was the ultimate Heat hater during his playing days and later as an analyst but played James the ultimate comment Tuesday night. James became the NBA's all-time leading scorer, passing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
Here's what Pierce tweeted following the mileston: "Honor to say I had a chance to match up with The GaoT I’ve alway never acknowledged u as King but u Truly the King #lRespect no player in NBA History had the pressure coming in the league to exceed expectations not only have u live up to it but u have surpassed it #allhailtheKing."
James broke a record that stood nearly 40 years. It took him 20 seasons to accomplish it.
“To everybody that’s been with me the last 20-plus years, I thank you so much because I wouldn’t be me without y’all,” James said in his speech Tuesday night. “All your help, passion, and sacrifices helped me get to this point. To the NBA, Adam Silver, and the late great David Stern, I thank you guys so much for allowing me to be a part of something I’ve always dreamed about. I would’ve never in a million years dreamt this even better. So, f*** man, thank you guys!”
