Ex-NBA Player DeMarcus Cousins Calls Donovan Mitchell The "Perfect Piece For Miami"

The Miami Heat are often discussed as a primary destination for All-Stars across the league.

Despite their inability to acquire these stars in recent seasons, the rumors prevail. The most discussed of these potential acquisitions is Cleveland Cavaliers All-Star guard Donovan Mitchell. The topic is gaining enough attention to garner the opinion of former NBA center DeMarcus Cousins.

“When it comes to Donovan Mitchell, I think he’s the perfect piece for Miami. Obviously, they need the offense," Cousins said on DraftKings 'Bully Ball with Rachel & Boogie.' "They have the defense in place. I think Donovan Mitchell makes that team so much better. A huge threat in the league.”

Cleveland and Miami have a 21-15 record, which places them in competition for the No. 4 seed in the East. It's undeniable that Mitchell could bring an exciting aspect to their core, but it may not be worth parting ways with guard Tyler Herro.

Mitchell is averaging 27.2 points, 5.7 assists, and 1.9 steals on 45.5 percent shooting in 27 games this season. Meanwhile, Herro is averaging career highs in multiple key categories but in 18 contests. Health is perhaps the most enticing aspect of acquiring the Cleveland guard.

Not to mention, it remains unknown if Mitchell will become available before the Feb. 8 trade deadline.
