Former Miami Heat Champion Calls Stephen Curry A PlayStation Player

Gary Payton, who won a championship with the Miami Heat, says Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry plays like a video game

Former Miami Heat player Gary Payton is responsible for one of the most important shots in franchise history.

He hit a jumper late in Game 3 of the 2006 NBA Finals against the Dallas Mavericks that allowed the Heat to stay alive. They eventually went on to win the first championship in team history.

With the Heat set to play the Golden State Warriors Thursday in San Francisco, Payton gave his thoughts on All-Star guard Stephen Curry. He compared Curry to a video-game player on an appearance on the Draft Kings podcast.

"Steph Curry is really, really popular to me because he plays like the way he plays on Playstation," Payton said. " And what do kids do? The play Playstation."

Curry is often left out of the greatest player of all time discussion despite winning four NBA titles. That puts him in the same category with former Heat player LeBron James, who won two with the Heat and one with Los Angeles Lakers and Cleveland Cavaliers

"He is one them special players where he can make a game look like a video game," Payton said.
